UMT 1

The Woodward UMT 1 is a measuring transducer for true RMS electrical values in three-phase systems. It measures voltage and current inputs, calculates real, reactive, and apparent power along with power factor, kWh, and kVARh, and transmits values via configurable analog outputs or communications interface.

UMT 1

Key Features

Measured Values

  • Three-phase voltage: Wye (VL1N/VL2N/VL3N) or Delta (VL12/VL23/VL31)
  • Three-phase current: IL1/IL2/IL3
  • Frequency
  • True RMS measurement for high accuracy
  • Class 0.5 accuracy

Calculated Values

  • Average, min, and max voltage and current
  • Real power (total and per phase)
  • Reactive power and apparent power
  • Power factor (cos phi)
  • Active energy (kWh) and reactive energy (kVARh)

Outputs & Interface

  • Configurable analog outputs (–20 to 20 mA, 0 to 20 mA, or 4 to 20 mA)
  • Pulse output for kWh/kVARh metering
  • Two-line, 16-character LC display
  • Optional RS-485/Modbus RTU communications

Available Packages

  • UMT 1/A3 — 3 analog outputs + pulse output + display
  • UMT 1/A3SU — A3 package + RS-485/Modbus RTU
  • UMT 1/A6 — 6 analog outputs + pulse output + display

Applications

  • Three-phase power measurement and monitoring
  • Generator set instrumentation
  • Plant DCS integration via analog outputs or Modbus
  • Energy metering (kWh and kVARh)
  • Switchgear and power distribution monitoring
