The Woodward PSG Governor is a speed-droop governor for controlling small diesel, gas, and gasoline engines or small steam and industrial gas turbines, either isochronously or with droop. Pressure compensation provides the stability needed for isochronous operation, while a temperature-compensated speeder spring minimizes speed drift from temperature changes.

Key Features
Governor
- Mechanical-hydraulic speed-droop governor
- Isochronous or droop operation (0–7% adjustable)
- Pressure compensation for isochronous stability
- Temperature-compensated speeder spring minimizes speed drift
- Adjustable needle valve for optimum stability matching
- Internal oil pump powered by drive shaft
- External oil supply required (typically engine lube oil or separate sump)
- CW, CCW, or reversible drive rotation
Configuration
- Manual speed-setting shaft on either or both sides
- Terminal shaft output from either or both sides
- Hydraulic power in increase-fuel direction; spring return for decrease
- Vertical or horizontal return spring options
- Customer-supplied external return spring option
- Spring-driven and oil-damped ballheads for torsional vibration filtering
- Electric or pneumatic remote speed-setting available
Applications
- Small diesel, gas, and gasoline engines
- Small steam and industrial gas turbines
- Alternators and DC generators
- Pumps and compressors
- Constant speed and variable speed applications
