The Woodward 3103 gas valve is a stainless steel metering valve capable of handling gas flow between 23 kg/h and 18,144 kg/h (50–40,000 lb/h). Its corrosion-resistant, self-cleaning design allows reliable operation in sour gas environments with high sulfur content. When paired with the all-electric EM35MR actuator, the 3103 delivers the precision required for Dry Low Emission (DLE) applications while eliminating hydraulic maintenance entirely.

Key Features
Valve
- Stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance
- Self-cleaning rotary sleeve-and-shoe metering design
- Gas flow range: 23–18,144 kg/h (50–40,000 lb/h)
- Designed for sour gas environments (high sulfur content)
- High-accuracy resolver for valve position feedback
- Metering port area determined by actuator input shaft position
EM35MR Actuator
- All-electric actuation — no hydraulic system required
- Eliminates HPU maintenance and contamination issues
- Brushless DC motor with motor clutch and gear-head assembly
- Samarium Cobalt permanent magnets for high torque
- Resolver-based rotor position sensing
- Designed for use with DVP (Digital Valve Positioner)
- Field-replaceable design for long service life
Applications
- Industrial gas turbine fuel metering (DLE applications)
- Sour gas service with high sulfur content fuels
- Systems requiring elimination of hydraulic actuation
- Gas turbines in the medium to large power range
