The Woodward Universal Shutoff Valve (USOV) is a normally closed, three-stage device designed to terminate fuel flow in less than 100 ms after interruption of electrical supply current. Available in 51 mm (2-inch) and 76 mm (3-inch) sizes, the USOV features all-stainless-steel construction with NACE MR0175 compliance for sulfide stress cracking resistance in oilfield environments.

Key Features
51 mm (2-inch) Model
- Maximum operating pressure: 12,411 kPa (1,800 psig)
- Liquid fuel only
- Compatible with de-ionized water, diesel, methanol, ethanol, Jet A, kerosene, heated crudes, and residuals
76 mm (3-inch) Model
- Maximum operating pressure: 6,895 kPa (1,000 psig)
- Gaseous and liquid fuels
- Compatible with natural gas, propane, ethane, methane plus all liquid fuels
Construction
- Three-stage valve with fuel shutoff under 100 ms
- Closure via stored spring energy in primary stage
- All-stainless-steel components
- Viton, Vespel, and PTFE seal materials
- Integral 40 µm filter screen protects first and second stage
- Positive seal in reverse-pressure up to 4,482 kPa (650 psig)
- NACE MR0175-2000 compliant for sulfide stress cracking resistance
Applications
- Gas turbine fuel shutoff (gaseous and liquid)
- Oilfield and sour gas environments (NACE compliant)
- Emergency and normal turbine shutdown
- High-pressure fuel isolation systems
